A selection of well-known standard works on the history of Judaism, numerous volumes of poetry and novels as well as biographies and philosophical treatises by Jewish authors are available from the extensive library of the author Hans Raimund. There are also theory books and biographies of well-known Jewish musicians.

The teacher Ruth Patzelt presents books and documents she used to research the Jewish history of Lockenhaus, e.g. books about the disappeared Jewish Burgenland and about National Socialism in Burgenland. Furthermore, poetry by well-known Jewish authors and books describing mainly Jewish Poland and old Austrian Galicia.

A sad focus of the exhibition are books about Auschwitz, Dachau, Theresienstadt and Buchenwald. Insight can also be gained into the death book of Theresienstadt and Maly Trostinec (W. Barton).

"It is not always sad what is Jewish", this sentence of a visitor at a lecture by Ruth Patzelt in Ottawa in 2010 about the Jewish quarter Kazimierz in Krakow, also finds its way into the book exhibition. There are books about Jewish cuisine, about Jewish humour, a few CDs with klezmer and Jewish tango...

The book exhibition is open to the public on Sunday 4 September from 11.00 - 17.00 in the HOPE Gallery in Hochstrass, Hauptstraße 25. Welcome!
